SI functions as an insurance “group” with several separately incorporated companies under a common umbrella. The bulk of operations are conducted by three insurance carriers and two managing general agencies. American Strategic Insurance, Corp. (ASIC) was the first of these companies, having been established in 1997. ASIC is an insurance carrier that writes Homeowners insurance, Dwelling Fire insurance, Personal Umbrella policies, Independent Contractors’ General Liability coverage, and condominium and apartment master Commercial Package policies in Florida.
ASIC has also been approved to write Homeowners and Dwelling Fire insurance in Arizona and Colorado and has requested approval to write these types of insurance in several more states. ASI Assurance, Corp and ASI Lloyds are also insurance carriers which write Homeowners and Dwelling Fire insurance in the States of Florida and Texas, respectively.
The majority of the people employed by the ASI Group work for ASI Underwriters, Corp., a managing general agency (MGA) that underwrites policies, markets to agents, and processes claims for the benefit of ASIC and ASI Assurance. ASI Underwriters of Texas, Corp., serves as the MGA of ASI Lloyds. ARX Holding, Corp is the 100% owner of all of the aforementioned companies. ARX also holds partial ownership in Safe Harbour Underwriters, LLC and American Capital Assurance Corp., companies which specialize in condominium and apartment Commercial Package policies in Florida.
